The name "Mea'Alofa" in Samoan means "thing of love" and is used to broadly mean a gift. The Mea'Alofa Autism Support Center, or MASC as it is more commonly known, was founded by parents and therapists who wanted to make a difference for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Hampton Roads Area.
By law, children with disabilities have an equal opportunity to a free and public education. Currently, the public school system has a special-education curriculum that is general in its application. This is not the best method to ensure children with autism reach their fullest potential.
Children with autism cannot be taught en masse like typically developing children. Each child must begin with an intensive one-on-one plan specifically created to meet that child's needs. Fulfillment of this critical need is the purpose for which MASC was created.

We are Tricare and Aetna approved providers.
Please contact us for more information about current rates, pricing and scholarships.
MASC admits clients of any race, color, sex, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at The Clinic. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin or ethnic origin in administration of our clincal policies. Our bylaws and articles of incorporation are available for public review.
MASC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin or ethnic origin in the acceptance of applications for employment, hiring applicants or the selection of vendors.
